MACHINE KNIT PATTERN: A quick beginner friendly project featuring cabled edges and a twist detail. This pattern includes clear written instructions, a chart as well as instructional photos.
SKILL LEVEL: Basic.
KNITTING MACHINE: Bulky (the sample was made with a brother KH230).
YARN: Approximately 70 (74, 78, 82, 85) yards of bulky weight yarn.
GAUGE: 14 stitches & 21 rows = 4” in stockinette TENSION: 10**

*For best fit choose a size 1-2" smaller than head circumference.

A quick to work up, beginner friendly pattern.
In order for your project to turn out the correct size, always achieve gauge before beginning.
Easily add to or decrease the Row 10-15 repeat in order to make th ear warmer smaller or larger in circumference respectively.
Sizes are written in parenthesis as follows: XS (S, M, L, XL), or organized within a table.

R1-3:COR Leave a 20” tail (for seaming later), E-wrap cast on 20 st’s (L10 -0- R10), K3 rows.

R4:COL 6 stitch cable (using two 3-prong tools) on needles R5-R10, placing right 3 st’s first, then left 3 st’s.

R5:COR 6 stitch cable (using two 3-prong tools) on needles L5-L10, placing the left 3 st’s first, then left 3 st’s

REPEAT: Repeat rows 10-15 until you reach row 94 (99, 104, 109, 114) Cast off, weave in ends. If your edges are curling in, steam block to get them to lay flat.

TWISTED SEAM
With the wrong sides of your work facing you, fold each end piece equally in half lengthwise so that the right sides are touching each other. Viewing the edges from the top, slide them together in an interlocking “C” fashion. Thread your 20” tail with a tapestry needle and sew the edges together.
