Yarn over (YO), insert hook into the stitch.
YO pull up a loop (3 loops on hook).
Immediately pull that first loop (you just pulled up) through the second loop on your hook (2 loops on your hook). This is the "secret sauce" that creates the slant.
Yarn over again.
Pull through both remaining loops on your hook.
💡 Pro-Tip Note: The "Pinch & Twist"
To prevent your hook from snagging and to keep your rhythm fluid, use the Pinch & Twist method:
The Maneuver: After you yarn over and pull up your loop (3 loops on hook), use your thumb and middle finger of your non-hook hand to pinch the fabric at the base of the stitch. Twist the fabric slightly downward while simultaneously pointing the nose of your hook toward the floor. This opens the second loop, allowing the first loop to slide through effortlessly.
